The Houston Kenshikan is more than just a iaido and Kendo Dojo in Houston. We encourage our members to have an active and healthy lifestyle. Thus, in addition to Kendo and Iaido, we are proud to offer fitness coaching and training off the floor.
Kendo and Iaido alone, even at 2-3 times a week, is not enough to help one stay fit. Maintaining a commitment to proper diet and exercise is very important. Also, supplementing one's practice with strength and conditioning goes a long way to helping one perform in the Dojo.
At the Kenshikan, we have several members who are very active outside of the Dojo. With our combined experiences, we are able to provide workout routines that can be used in conjunction with Kendo and Iaido practice. Further, we have a designated coach, Chris Juede, who is available to help provide assistance and guidance to all members.
Chris Ioves Kendo and fitness. He wants to help everyone become better for themselves, their families, and the Dojo. As a father of 2 small children with a demanding career, Chris understands how tough it is for one to make time for proper diet and exercises. He believes commitment to one's health is important for everyone and is happy to help.
